Moddershall Oaks’ first comedy night was a huge success.  Held in The Venue, an absolutely astonishing space accompanied by a trendy bar, colourful ambient lighting & a starry sky of Swarovski crystal lights, the perfect backdrop for an exclusive comedy evening. Just for one night Moddershall Oaks’ beautiful, peaceful and serene setting, gorgeous green fields and a tranquil yet rejuvenating atmosphere.. decided to take a walk on the wild side!

It kicked off to a great start, as the guests arrived, the microphone stood waiting for the first act and comedy was in the air. All guests sat down to a delicious and famous might we add.. gourmet burger with delectable triple cooked chips, and choice of bottled beer or a glass of wine. Lively music played in the background, along to the coloured LED & starry lights, accompanied by the 5* service of dedicated staff, and of course the anticipation of the evening.. some really funny jokes to laugh out loud to. As Jon Pearson, the MC for the night, made his way through the seated crowd, an excited round of applause followed.

Jon performed beyond expectations. Warm, friendly and funny of course, whilst interacting with the guests with some witty quips and mild humiliation which had the audience in hysterics! Jon was absolutely on point and the perfect act to get the crowd suitably warmed up ready for the first act. Jon welcomed Freddy Quinne to the stage with a round of applause, who began his act and received instant laughter. Freddy comically commented before his performance on the prestige of the Spa “this is proper Jo Malone isn’t it this – with your Emma Bridgewater crockery – beautiful!”. Freddy was truly a pleasure, hilarious and a definite up and coming huge talent.

The audience waiting patiently, chatting and laughing through the interval, grabbing another round of drinks for the table ready for the final and headline act, Gary Delaney. Gary took to the stage and was positively worth waiting for. Gary delivered his one liners casually, carefully and cleverly.  His stance was nervous, full of comical reassurance to himself throughout and delivering constant intelligent carefully crafted jokes leaving his audience hysterical. An absolute wonder, hilarious and the perfect performance to end the night.

Moddershall Oaks’ first comedy night was a complete sell-out, and we definitely anticipate a sell-out for our next comedy night on 16th June 2017, featuring amazing talent Jo Enright. Jo Enright has worked alongside Peter Kay in Phoenix Nights and stared in ITV’s comedy ‘The job lot’. We have MC James Cook introducing the comedians and commentating throughout the evening and the opening act is Tom Houghton. Watch this space, Moddershall Oaks enjoyed their comedy night so much they plan many more for the future..

Tickets for Moddershall Oaks next comedy night are £29.95 each, and payment is required on booking.  Make sure to book your place as soon as possible, anticipated sell out perhaps before official release. A must have event this summer, no room for disappointment, just endless laughter!
