To our Moddershall Oaks family
Covid-19 has taken us all by surprise and continues to disrupt the way we all go about our daily lives. It is a surreal time which prevents us all from spending the time we would like with loved ones and friends. Moddershall Oaks has always been about the coming together of friends and family, sharing great times and creating enduring memories. We like you want to get back to these times as soon as possible.
On December 1st this year, thanks to all our wonderful customers and team, we celebrate 20 years of business. It’s been quite a journey, with its fair share of challenges, and we have made some great friends along the way. We want to thank you all for making our journey possible and for all your help and support along the way. We truly love what we do and with your help, we will continue to build the business and its services in the years to come.
Covid-19 Latest updates
COVID-19 UPDATE (26.11.20)
Following today’s announcement from the government relating to Staffordshire moving into tier 3 from 2nd December, after discussing all possible options it is with sincere regret that we will remain closed for a further fortnight until Wednesday 16th December. If you have a booking in this time we will be in touch with you in due course. Once the review takes place by the 16th, we are hoping to be in a position to open and therefore are taking spa day, evening and break reservations from 17th December onwards.
Our main concern is the health and wellbeing of our staff and customers, and hope that cases continue to drop in this area and we are able to welcome you all very soon. Despite remaining closed, our Reservations Team are very much open for business and look forward to helping you to find the perfect pampering Christmas gift. You can contact the team on 01782 399000 or firstname.lastname@example.org 8.30am-7pm weekdays or 8.30am-5.30pm weekends. We can also arrange for you to collect gifts and vouchers from our spa reception with advanced notice.
Once again, thank you all for the tremendous support we have received for so many months now. It has been a very challenging time for us all, and we are so very looking forward to being the escape everyone very much needs in the near future.
Best wishes, everyone at Moddershall Oaks x

It is with a heavy heart we are having to close our doors again on Wednesday evening (4th November) as per the government’s announcement at the weekend.
We are closed for 4 weeks Thursday 5th November until Wednesday 2nd December – we hope we will be able to reopen after this date. We are writing to you because you have a spa reservation with us during this lockdown period.
Just to reiterate once again, the full team at Moddershall Oaks will be furloughed from Thursday onwards so we will not be answering calls and emails from 7pm Wednesday 4th November until we reopen. Between now and then, we will speak to you soon when we get in touch about your reservation.

As of Saturday 31st October Moddershall Oaks became subject to Tier 2 ‘High’ Covid-19 restrictions as we are located in the County of Staffordshire. As a result we can only accept guests from the same household or support bubble.
In addition the following rules apply:
Please do not socialise in a group of more than 6 outdoors.
Do not mix with anybody outside of your household or support bubble in any indoor setting
Bars and restaurant will close at 10pm
Please wear a face mask in all indoor public areas of the property
Weddings can go ahead subject to restrictions on the number of attendees
Exercise classes will be subject to social distancing measures
If you live in a Tier 3 ‘Very High’ restriction area, you are advised against travelling and unfortunately you are currently unable to make a booking with us until the restrictions in your area are reduced or lifted.
Kindly note that we require the postcode and house number of all guests at the time of booking. We also trust that our guests agree to comply with the government tier 2 high restrictions currently in place. We are unable to take reservations from those who do not.
If you have an existing booking with us which has been affected by Tier changes, please send an email to email@example.com our team will be in touch to reassure and assist you as soon as possible.
We are currently experiencing high levels of calls, messages and emails due to the rapidly changing government advice which can change at any time, so please bear with us, we will get back to you as soon as we can.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.
COVID-19 UPDATE (19.10.20)
Covid Tiers and what they mean:
Please be aware we will have to ask for the postcode and council of each individual guest planning to visit us.
Following Government advice, please ensure you follow the below tier guidelines for your area.
Tier 1 – Medium Can attend the spa with people from outside their household (maximum of 6 guests)
Tier 2 – High Can attend the spa but only with someone from the same household/support bubble
Tier 3 – Very High Can not travel or attend the spa.
If you have a booking with us and the new 3 tier system affects you and your visit, please get in touch by calling us on 01782 399000 and option 1. The team can then rearrange this with you. Kindly note that we do require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice in order to avoid a small charge.
COVID-19 UPDATE (01.10.20)
Our sauna and steam room are now open! We’ve been given the government go ahead to now open both heated rooms meaning you now have full access to all of our spa facilities during your next visit.
Sauna – max occupancy 4 people
Steam Room – max occupancy 2 people
To book your 20 minute slot for either facility please ask at reception. Please remember to keep 2m apart if you are not from the same household.
COVID-19 UPDATE (24.09.20)
Face coverings must be worn by all guests except when eating or drinking. This means guests will need to wear a face covering to enter the restaurant and can only remove it once seated at the table, to eat and drink. Guests will also have to put their face covering back on to use the toilet and when departing.
COVID-19 UPDATE (10.09.20)
Here at Moddershall Oaks our priority is to provide a safe environment for our staff and guests. We have been waiting patiently to see what the latest guidelines will mean for our Christmas events but unfortunately we are none the wiser. Instead of waiting longer to decide what to do for Christmas at MO, we have designed our events based on the current restrictions so people can start to make festive plans. This includes our wreath making, Christmas parties, Christmas Day lunch and New Year’s eve. We will update our guidelines as we are able to, but the event content will remain the same. If we are not able to go ahead with the event for a reason outside of our control, you will be able to transfer your deposit to something else at MO (the deposits are non-refundable).
So, the finer detail… For all events, you will not be able to book for more than a group of 6 people. We have been asked if you can book separate tables for 6 to make larger bookings and unfortunately this is not possible as it doesn’t adhere to the current law set out by government. We do hope that the maximum group number will increase before December and will update you if it does. Everyone will be greeted and shown to their tables, and our team will operate a table service throughout the event so you can order drinks with your server. The area around each table will be marked so you can keep a distance from other parties, whilst being able to enjoy yourselves. Temperature checks may still be in place and there will be hand sanitiser stations placed in the venue too.
We hope you like the look of our festive events and whilst we can only accommodate small groups, we will make sure you have a fabulously festive fun-filled Christmas.
COVID-19 UPDATE (25.08.20)
Facials are now back on our treatment menu (yay!). Our sauna and steam room will unfortunatley still remain closed until further notice.
Please also see our latest guidance on face masks (below) and where you will be required to wear one during your time with us.
FEELING UNWELL / CANCELLATIONS
If you or anyone in your household is experiencing Covid-19 symptoms you are requested not to attend the spa. This will include if you or anyone in your household has a new or persistent cough, a fever and/or a sudden loss of taste and smell. We will be more than happy to help you find a new suitable date in the future and there will be no date change fee as long as we have a 48 hour notice from your arrival date. Our team will also not attend work if they are feeling unwell or display any symptoms.
All bookings made during the current Covid climate will be subject to our standard terms and conditions.
Following new government advice, all guests, members and visitors will now need to wear a face covering in the following areas:
- When entering the spa and in our reception area
- When entering the restaurant, but can be removed once seated
- In corridors and public areas such as the sleep lounge & relaxation lounge – masks can be removed in the relaxation lounge if eating or drinking.
- On the treatment floor waiting area
- The Blush Lounge beauty room
- In the changing rooms, but can be removed when showering.
TEST & TRACE
Booking is essential for any area of the property, including our restaurant and deli and the information we take will assist the government’s test and trace policy should the need arise.
ARRIVAL TO MODDERSHALL OAKS
Please only bring essential belongings into the spa and leave all non-essential / valuable items at home. We also ask that you ideally arrive ready for the spa, as time in the changing rooms should be kept to a minimum.
Upon arrival to Moddershall Oaks you must use the entrance by the Blush Lounge rather than the main reception entrance. This is to allow for social distancing and to avoid congestion in the main reception area.
There will be floor markings and signs through the property and we kindly ask you to follow and adhere to the social distancing measures we have in place.
At point(s) of arrival, we will be taking the temperature of all guests, staff and suppliers who enter the property. Any guests that are showing a temperature above 38ᵒC will be asked to wait in their car for 10 minutes and will be checked again. Kindly note anyone showing a temperature above 38ᵒC will not be permitted entry, so we advise that you check your temperature before you leave the house. If this is the case, we will email you a voucher so you can rebook another time.
There will be hand sanitiser at the entrance of the building, please use this on entry.
We will be cashless for the time being so please ensure you bring your card and pay via contactless payment method where possible.
SPA BOOKING TIMINGS
Due the current climate its mandatory for all guests to keep to there arrival and departure times to ensure we can create a safe environment for both guests and staff. For those arriving at 8:30am you have use of the facilities for the day and will be required to check-out at reception at 4:00pm, for those arriving at 9:30am you have use of the facilities for the day and will be required to check-out at reception at 5:00pm. For our spa evenings you can arrive from 5:30pm, the facilities will be open until 9:00pm and the changing rooms available until 9:15pm to ensure check-out at reception by 10:00pm. Those dining in the restaurant for dinner will check-out from the restaurant and the last sitting is at 8:30pm.
Arrival and departure times have been carefully considered to minimise congestion in the changing rooms, please do try to adhere to the times you have been given.
We are trying to limit the time spent in the changing facilities as much as possible, so for that reason, although our shower facilities will be available, we do advise you to shower at home if possible and only use the hairdryers if absolutely necessary.
We are delighted to have been given the go ahead for our spa facilities to open from 1st August and unfortunately, this will exclude our sauna and steam room for the time being.
There will be signs in place showing the maximum capacity for each of our pools & relaxation rooms. We kindly ask you to take note of this information.
Soft furnishings, blankets and magazines have been removed to create a safer environment.
Here at Moddershall Oaks we are doing everything possible to ensure we are providing a safe environment for our customers and our teams. This means an increase in staff and equipment costs throughout the business including extra cleaning procedures throughout the day and additional team members. We have not passed these additional costs onto our customers and have not increased any of our prices since reopening on 1st August.
We do however have to make a small change in order to make our touch therapies as safe as possible and to allow adequate cleaning between clients. Treatments will be shortened by approximately 10% (up to a maximum of 5 minutes) so for example, 25 minutes will now be around 22 minutes long, 40 minute treatments will be around 35 minutes long and 55 minute treatments will be around 50 minutes long.
We are able to take additional steps to thoroughly disinfect the products, equipment and touch points, and the slightly longer time means that there is little or no cross over between customers in the therapy area. We are also requesting that customers arrive promptly for their treatment times, and not early, to allow us to carry out the additional cleaning. Thank you so much for your understanding and we appreciate you supporting Moddershall Oaks by visiting at this time.
When arriving for a treatment we ask that you arrive at the time stated on your itinerary and do not arrive early.
We kindly ask that you use the hand sanitiser provided prior to having your treatment and our therapists will wear a protective visor for some treatments to keep them and you safe.
Your therapist will go through our short medical form with you prior to starting your treatment.
There will be a clean, sanitised box in the treatment room for you to place your clothing and belongings during your treatment, to minimise high contact touch points.
Our deli will be open for food and drink and we will be operating table service only.
We have positioned the tables and chairs carefully to ensure a social distance between each station, please do not move any tables or chairs from their positions
When dining in our restaurant we ask that you arrive at the time you have booked and avoid arriving early or late.
We are operating table service only in the restaurant.
We have removed our breakfast buffet but will continue to serve a plated hot breakfast.
All rooms are treated with a disinfectant fogging machine in between stays.
For those guests joining us for a spa break, we kindly request you use your room to change when possible, to limit the number of guests using the changing rooms at one time.
Mini bar items have been removed from each of the rooms, but our deli and restaurant are open for food and drink.
Exclusive & Christmas Events
Our events have been designed to adhere to any restrictions that are in place. This includes maximum group bookings for 6 people and reducing capacity to allow for social distancing.
Timings for some events have also been changed to adhere to the curfews in place.
